Curtain Buying Guide

Step 1

Measure Your Window Correctly

Before buying your curtains, measure your window area accurately.
You’ll need two key measurements:

  • Width – the total width of your curtain pole or track (not the window frame).
  • Drop (Height) – from the top of the pole/track to where you want the curtain to end.
Step 2

Decide Where You Want Your Curtain to Fall

To the Sill: Ideal for kitchen or small windows.
➜ Measure to 1 cm above the sill.

Below the Sill: Elegant for living areas.
➜ Measure 15–20 cm below the sill.

To the Floor: Modern and stylish.
➜ Measure to 1 cm above the floor.

Puddled: Luxurious look.
➜ Add 10–20 cm extra to your drop.

Step 3

Choose the Right Curtain Width

Curtain fullness (the gathered look) depends on how wide your curtains are compared to your pole. For a rich, gathered look, your total curtain width should be 2–2.5 times the width of your pole or track.
